As Atlantic Canada’s premier new construction, repair and refit facility, ISI’s Halifax Shipyard has undertaken Frigate Docking Work Periods, major destroyer and supply vessel refits, and submarine repairs.
ISI also works closely with government customers to better integrate project reporting and change control systems and procedures to streamline information flow and standardize how growth items are costed. This allows better visibility for the customer and also speeds up approval processes.
From our extensive background in naval work, we have developed a philosophy of early and progressive system completion. This not only speeds the commissioning phase, but also provides you with an extremely reliable product.
Our attention to Health, safety and environmental excellence has been recognized as being world-class. We strive to achieve zero lost time incidents in all of our facilities, and on one project in particular we did achieve 1.4 million person hours without a lost time incident.
Irving Shipbuilding Inc. has a long and successful history of government and naval construction, refit and repair projects including:
- Canadian Patrol Frigate Project (CPFP) – Prime Contractor & Program Manager for the Halifax Class frigates, design and the build of 12 vessels on time and budget.
- Maritime Coastal Defense Vessels (MCDVs) – Designed and built the 12 ship Maritime Coastal Defense Vessel (MCDV) project, completed on budget and ahead of schedule.
